This has been such a crazy time. At the end of December 2019, the first cases of COVID-19 (a new Coronavirus) appeared in Wuhan, China. On January 13th 2020, we heard of the first recorded case outside of China, in Thailand. At first, it didn’t seem too concerning. A common opinion was that it was no more dangerous than the regular flu.
Until March 11th 2020. On that day, the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Spring Break for us began on Saturday March 14th. Our family had planned a 3-day getaway up island for March 24th-26th. We decided to cancel, as we just weren’t sure what the future might hold. On March 19th B.C. declared a general state of emergency.
Still enjoying Spring Break over here (at home in isolation of course!); not yet worrying about school work so much. We tried some new crafts, fun activities and cooking that we thought others might enjoy trying too!
We’ve been taking it easy the past few days. Recognizing that it’s still technically Spring Break, we’ve been trying to relax a bit and just enjoy time together. But we have tried a few new fun activities that I want to share with you!
It’s been quite some time since I last posted. Life with two little ones has kept me busy! But with the recent COVID-19 events, we find ourselves at home … with a lot more time on our hands!
There are lots of Facebook posts going around, with amazing lists of free resources that are available to families during the school closures around the world. It’s incredible to have these huge lists of websites … but I almost found it a bit overwhelming! So last night once the girls were asleep, I sorted through a bunch of the resources. I made a few categories: Music & Language, Art/Crafts & Cooking, Science & Animals, Exercise & the Outdoors, Math, and Reading & Writing. I browsed through a bunch of the websites that have been shared recently, and added my favourites to my category lists!
