Our family truly LOVES Christmas. We love everything about it: the music, the meals/desserts, the crafts, the decorations, the community events and activities, the time with family, the movies … it is without a doubt our favourite holiday of the year. With all of the current COVID restrictions here in B.C. (and all over the country/world), this Christmas is going to be a bit different than what we are used to. Many of our traditions, such as parades and family gatherings, are not allowed. The past nine months have been very tough (for both adults and children), therefore I am determined to do everything I can to make the holidays magical for my young children.Continue reading
My parents gave our daughter a craft book for Christmas last year: Art Sparks by Marion Abrams, Hilary Emerson. My daughter and I both love this book. It contains 53 projects, many of which you can do with supplies that you already have at home.
Our most recent project? Making Monsters!!!Continue reading
One lazy Sunday morning (pre-COVID-19), we were looking for something relaxing to do as a family. It was a dark, rainy day … a perfect movie day! Our eldest is at the age where we felt she might be ready for her first Disney movie. She and I also felt like crafting! We decided to put the two together and create our own Drive-in Movie theater.
School started a bit late today. The girls were playing so nicely together after breakfast … I didn’t want to interrupt them! They played in their room, chatting away, playing with the Barbies. It was very sweet to see. I just enjoyed the peaceful play time and waited until they were ready for something different. Then we started class! We didn’t follow our school timetable, but we did some fun activities that our 6-year old really enjoyed.Continue reading

We’ve been taking it easy the past few days. Recognizing that it’s still technically Spring Break, we’ve been trying to relax a bit and just enjoy time together. But we have tried a few new fun activities that I want to share with you!Continue reading
Day 4 was a very quiet day. We were all tired, and just felt like taking it easy! We tried out a few new activities, but kept it pretty low key.Continue reading

So far so good! Day 2 post is up! We had another fun day with the girls – Daddy was home today, which made things even better!Continue reading
It’s been quite some time since I last posted. Life with two little ones has kept me busy! But with the recent COVID-19 events, we find ourselves at home … with a lot more time on our hands!
There are lots of Facebook posts going around, with amazing lists of free resources that are available to families during the school closures around the world. It’s incredible to have these huge lists of websites … but I almost found it a bit overwhelming! So last night once the girls were asleep, I sorted through a bunch of the resources. I made a few categories: Music & Language, Art/Crafts & Cooking, Science & Animals, Exercise & the Outdoors, Math, and Reading & Writing. I browsed through a bunch of the websites that have been shared recently, and added my favourites to my category lists!Continue reading
