I’ve recently fallen in love with a new hobby: painting rocks. It’s something I can work on together with the kids … or I can do by myself after the kids have gone to bed. Both girls are very creative, and love to do crafts and art projects. Not only does painting rocks give us a fun and creative way to pass the time when it rains, it also gives us a great excuse to get outside when the sun returns. All thanks to the Sooke to Sidney Rock Hunt!Continue reading “Painting Rocks”
Our family truly LOVES Christmas. We love everything about it: the music, the meals/desserts, the crafts, the decorations, the community events and activities, the time with family, the movies … it is without a doubt our favourite holiday of the year. With all of the current COVID restrictions here in B.C. (and all over the country/world), this Christmas is going to be a bit different than what we are used to. Many of our traditions, such as parades and family gatherings, are not allowed. The past nine months have been very tough (for both adults and children), therefore I am determined to do everything I can to make the holidays magical for my young children.Continue reading “Christmas Amidst Covid Restrictions: Ideas for Making the Holidays Magical”
My parents gave our daughter a craft book for Christmas last year: Art Sparks by Marion Abrams, Hilary Emerson. My daughter and I both love this book. It contains 53 projects, many of which you can do with supplies that you already have at home.
Our most recent project? Making Monsters!!!Continue reading “Monsters in the Making: A fun kids craft”
One lazy Sunday morning (pre-COVID-19), we were looking for something relaxing to do as a family. It was a dark, rainy day … a perfect movie day! Our eldest is at the age where we felt she might be ready for her first Disney movie. She and I also felt like crafting! We decided to put the two together and create our own Drive-in Movie theater.
School started a bit late today. The girls were playing so nicely together after breakfast … I didn’t want to interrupt them! They played in their room, chatting away, playing with the Barbies. It was very sweet to see. I just enjoyed the peaceful play time and waited until they were ready for something different. Then we started class! We didn’t follow our school timetable, but we did some fun activities that our 6-year old really enjoyed.Continue reading “At Home Learning: April 3rd”
Still enjoying Spring Break over here (at home in isolation of course!); not yet worrying about school work so much. We tried some new crafts, fun activities and cooking that we thought others might enjoy trying too!Continue reading “At Home Learning: Day 8 & 9”
We’ve been taking it easy the past few days. Recognizing that it’s still technically Spring Break, we’ve been trying to relax a bit and just enjoy time together. But we have tried a few new fun activities that I want to share with you!Continue reading “At Home Learning: Day 5-7”
Day 4 was a very quiet day. We were all tired, and just felt like taking it easy! We tried out a few new activities, but kept it pretty low key.Continue reading “At Home Learning: Day 4”
At Home Learning Day 3! Another fun day with our girls. Daddy got the girls outside again for some fitness, and our eldest and I spent much of the afternoon crafting!Continue reading “At Home Learning: Day 3”
