Monsters in the Making: A fun kids craft

My parents gave our daughter a craft book for Christmas last year: Art Sparks by Marion Abrams, Hilary Emerson. My daughter and I both love this book. It contains 53 projects, many of which you can do with supplies that you already have at home.

I would love to work in a Children’s Bookstore: More favourite picture books that I can’t stop raving about

I would love to work in a children’s bookstore. I would love reading all of the new books coming into the store, searching out new books that would soon become favourites on a family’s bookshelf, and chatting with customers to find out their interests and suggest new stories. Children’s books are, without a doubt, my favourite genre of book. I love how clever they can be, how well written they are, the beautiful illustrations, and the occasional song or rhyme! I have written a few blog posts already, about some of our favourites. At Home Learning: Day 1

It’s been quite some time since I last posted. Life with two little ones has kept me busy! But with the recent COVID-19 events, we find ourselves at home … with a lot more time on our hands!

There are lots of Facebook posts going around, with amazing lists of free resources that are available to families during the school closures around the world. It’s incredible to have these huge lists of websites … but I almost found it a bit overwhelming! So last night once the girls were asleep, I sorted through a bunch of the resources. I made a few categories: Music & Language, Art/Crafts & Cooking, Science & Animals, Exercise & the Outdoors, Math, and Reading & Writing. I browsed through a bunch of the websites that have been shared recently, and added my favourites to my category lists!

happy-2220481_1920

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of July. As always, summer seems to be flying by! I love all of the family-friendly events around town during the summer months. There is always so much to see and do; so many new things to experience as a family. I’ve pulled together a list of the festivals and activities that I’m looking forward to checking out in the next month or so, and thrown them all into our family calendar! I thought I would share for anyone else that might be interested. Lots of fun still to be had this summer!!
